{"id":543,"date":"2014-12-22T19:02:47","date_gmt":"2014-12-22T19:02:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sidhille.com\/?p=543"},"modified":"2014-12-22T19:07:57","modified_gmt":"2014-12-22T19:07:57","slug":"an-arthouse-jazzvideo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.sidhille.com\/?p=543","title":{"rendered":"An arthouse jazzvideo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So, here it is, my last project for 2014 and a rewarding experience it was indeed:<\/p>\n<p>The Contemporary Collective&#8217;s promo video was filmed in stylish black &amp; white with a cool loft-type production design.<br \/>\nSee it for yourself and comment right on the Vimeo page, if you feel like it.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/114654969\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nWe had a very easy time making it, everything seemed to fall into place, one idea led to the next.<\/p>\n<p>There was no script, I just had this\u00a0idea of a sixties&#8217; &#8216;noir&#8217; film in my mind and the location was to be a factory hall in eastern Helsinki.<br \/>\nOur\u00a0camera man Pietari Peltola\u00a0had just finished a feature film (He ovat paenneet \/ They have escaped) making great use of natural light, or rather\u00a0the lack of it, so we only had a few lamps and went for deep contrast.<br \/>\nGiven the limitations of the budget we decided to use our recent record &#8216;Outer Space&#8217; as a soundtrack, no live\u00a0sound, but rather a David Attenborough kind of voice-over, dubbed in later on.<br \/>\nSo we slowed down or sped up the film sequences, creating a floating kind of feel to the movie.<\/p>\n<p>Some bits I&#8217;m particularly happy with, like the idea of that still picture in the middle of the film. Is it a photograph?
